The Live Document is an audience participatory work that questions both how we perceive and how we notate and translate. Presented with multiple drawn, written and sound scores, it is the participant’s job to personally and honestly attempt to decipher a piece of choreography by engaging with multiple attempts at documentation the original choreography.
Choreographed and Performed by Katie Dale-Everett
Performed at First Steps, Brighton Dance Network, 2015.
“I know nothing of dance but watching, I felt like she was a seamstress, tracking the outline of dress she was going to make on her body.”
“A really interesting idea. It was really interesting watching others and wondering if we were right.”
