    Digital Tattoo: Artefact 1

After opening its doors this month CentrE17 in Walthamstow launches a series of cabaret style evenings of female-led performance, Woman, Seriously. The new 120-seat performance venue will host this monthly event of theatre, dance and performance work made by women, curated by Grace Nicol.
Cabaret style evening of female led performance, Woman, Seriously kicks off on the 31 August with an exciting programme of work from Isis O’Regan, Claudia Palazzo, Katie Dale Everett, The Yonis and much more. Isis O’Regan from Room For Rebellion is a DJ and performance artist. Room For Rebellion hosts synchronised events in aid of Abortion Support Network. Other acts on the 31 August will include: Katie Dale Everett’s film Digital Tattoo, which was created as part of the Channel 4 Random Acts project, work by performance maker Claudia Palazzo and improvisatory movement girl band The Yonis.

An open call will be launched in September for future Woman, Seriously events. Grace Nicol Dance is committed to socially engaged work and the promotion of female led performance. CentrE17 is located near Walthamstow tube station and is the London borough of Waltham Forest’s only purpose-built performance space.

It has been said that our digital information will last longer than we will ourselves in the flesh unless granted the Right to be Forgotten. This choreographic art film combines dance, animation and projections to explore the permanence of online data.

In a society increasingly obsessed with the digital, KDE Dance presents an innovative mixed-media choreographic programme exploring the consequences and patterns of our online actions. Splicing together dance, film and participation, this programme has been reviewed as something "you need to see on prescription" (Brighton Source) and a “must for anyone who has a profile on social media” (Cassy Fry).

    DIGITAL TATTOO

Digital Tattoo: Fusing digital light and sophisticated choreography, Digital Tattoo is an intimate portrayal of two lovers and the unintentional outcomes of their digital tattoos.

Treated with protein dance's trademark physical and verbal wit, Border Tales looks at multi-cultural living in the UK seen through the eyes of the characters on stage. Luca Silvestrini turns his sharply satirical gaze to stereotypical thinking, tolerance and where lines are drawn between ‘them’ and ‘us’.

“Excellently performed. A big, brave, cacophonous attempt to show what it means to live in multicultural Britain today.”
    - The Guardian

With support from Katie Dale-Everett Dance - Digital Tattoo.

Free tickets to see Digital Tattoo when purchasing tickets for Border Tales. Limited tickets available.
